Whoopsy:Porker:Gauss:Whoopsy:Whose signature is that?
Walter Röhrl.
Surprising given it says W. Röhrl.
Haha he never signed any one of my cars so it is the first time I have seen his signature
This one was signed twice. Once on the side plate and another signature on the front bonnet. I guess some get it all
Porker:That said it was never presented as a track car, it was always said to provide fun on the road.
Which it is. I have never driven any other car that provides as much fun and pleasure on public roads. Even driving at 60 km/h. As to the track I am still in-between. In the hands of a very skilled driver this car is very fast. But for me I am much less confident pushing it close to limits then with a 911. But provides enormous pleasure on track too.
Nice one, buddy
You got the front right airborne though

Sadly I didn't get European delivery for mine...........
Would have been the most fun driving it on the alpine passes......
Every time I did the passes were in a turbo S, the brute force approach, the 4RS would have been the agility and finesse side.
Gauss:Yes, the car is quite a handful on circuit, once you drive quickly. That's why I value the new upgrades from Manthey and SSR so much, as a glimpse of hope, so to speak.
Agree. I particularly like how the S-Duct in the SSR version still allows some luggage up front and seems to be quickly and easily convertible for track or street use.

nberry:Nick, has your 4RS been delivered? If so, I'd be interested how it compares to your track version>
haha had it since the beginning of the year.
No comparison. My track car runs on slicks, Grips beyond what any street car can do and on track it's all about the cornering Gs and not straight-line Gs.
Noise wise, it's just different kind of loud. The track car has zero inside panels insulations etc, it was just a thin sheet of metal between me and the engine. With helmet and radio earphone on it's really isn't bad.
The extra 100 or so HP is nice on the straights, but going fast on a straight is actually quite boring. That's the time when I check gauges and fiddle with settings.
Braking is another thing the track car trumps the street car. Slicks have so much more grip I can brake harder and later, the lower terminal velocity plays a role too.
Do I wish I have a street car very close to the track car? Like same bare interior but with street tires and road legal AND with only 1 seat? Yeah I don't mind, I am hardcore like that if I were to get a 'purist' car. That's the car I want, not this parts bin special S/T crap.
On the other hand, there are days when I wanted to have some niceties inside the car when I go mountain road carving, and the GT4RS is the perfect weapon for those. That car is really really tuned for the back roads, dream car for doing long road trips in Europe around the Alps. The agility of the chassis and mid engine layout is beyond what a 911 can do.
sima:Appreciate jf someone can share any exp on putting PPF on the car. The carbon hood and side intake need some protection, right? Thank you.
side intake has a small protection on the edge from factory. So does the front back wheel arches.
I did the whole front, mirrors, skirts, and back side intakes.
Gauss:I also have a full XPEL Ultimate Plus wrap. I did the whole, because I was concerned that you might see discoloration in a few years due to UV exposure between the areas that have been wrapped and those that haven't.
The XPEL wrap also has the advantage when someone tries to key your car or stuff like that...
My mechanic noticed that someone had keyed the carbon rear wing on my Performante. Thank god the wrap company owner was clever and recommended to put a wrap on the rear wing as well. No harm done. It is self healing (according to XPEL) but you can still notice the "scratching" if you look closely, I guess whoever did it, did it with a lot of force, probably because he didn't feel the key or whatever he used touching the carbon material.
I don't even know where this happened, I never leave the car on parking lots at night and were always driving to locations which are not secluded. So weird. Just the rear wing.

BTW - the Xpel self-healing requires that you pour hot water on it - did you try that?

Grant:BTW - the Xpel self-healing requires that you pour hot water on it - did you try that?
Nope, I didn't know that but according to my mechanic, the XPEL self healing works by itself and is accelerated by warmer temperatures. Car was standing in the sun for a couple of hours. I guess the "cut" was too deep but it didn't reach the carbon material, thank god.

I just received a set of 3 inch taller wing risers for my GT4RS:

I'll be able to see out the rear window and won't mind a tiny bit of understeer at speed.

Yeah, the only think I like better about the Touring is the unobstructed rearward view. Your solution is even better.

Whoopsy:You are welcome!
Entry and Drive isn't offered on any GT cars.
Bose would be like a must have, the base stock speakers just sin't good for even listening to AM radio.
And no, rain sensor and auto dimming mirror cannot be retrofitted after.
Did you see that the new GT3 RS comes with entry and drive ?
