bvineyards:4trac:Joost:Gnil:... I used 99% pure alcohol that your buy at the drugstore ( don't know the name in english ) I had to massage then for 4 or 5 minutes with lots of that liquid and then I eventually managed to get them slowly off . The result is great . Gone with no trace .... yet in another thread you tell us that you didn't touch any alcohol in 24 years...
He is still in the denial phase......

Don't do it Eric! It is infested with crocs and hippos!

That’s a beautiful turbo. The color is so right for what the car is all about. It demands attention in an elegant way. Perfect!
Next time I buy a car I’ll call you and your wife to analyze what I should buy. Well done.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Very, very nice spec. Congratulations.
Indeed amazed by the prices you're quoting, they're so much more expensive over here.

Don't forget the winter wheels n tyres
Ha - thanks Watt... you do realize up here we get a real winter, not what you in Wanaka and Malibu call winter? But yes, as you were writing this I was checking out the winter wheel / Pirelli packages.... you will laugh but equipping the Turbo with the basic Carrera wheel and winters will cost less than what it cost me to put 20" wheels and semi-offload tires on the Range Rover.....

Thanks Nick; the PTS part was clearly a Rennteam influence - I had no idea of any of that before joining this merry group of obsessives... In a different life (or different wife?) I may have gone for Lizard Green too...

Yes, being on RT I am always aware of the EU prices you are faced with. And I admit, part of the rationale for just bumping up to the full Turbo was: why not take advantage of the prices they offer us here, especially when the base model spec really requires few options to "make it right", the way the Carrera does.

Haha,
Sun's in real winter country at moment - 18 feet last winter.
Yes Sun is looking at snows for the RR, amazing how poor tyre selection in 19's is for RR.

Even sizes are good selection, odd-inch sizes are the pits.... Land Rover wisdom from other forums. 20" may be the sweet spot... you can run at least 1/2 inch oversize without problems and regain much of the sidewall lost from the 19s.

Yes, but only the 19 fits full size spare in the wheel well, and Sun goes no where w/o one. Choice made and must be lived with. Although one could argue a switch to 20's in winter since less likely to incur a flat only on the highway......
A few months later... our first serious road trip - will end up ~4000 km - over two provinces to BC, where some of the best sports car roads anywhere live. Still lovely summer weather, mid 20s. No bikes this time, but plenty of enjoyable day hikes to do before heading back east.
Our temporary home town of Kaslo, on one of the long lakes in southern BC, Kootenay Lake. An interesting historical site here is this early century sternwheeler, many of these linked lakes with railways before highways came.
Arenarot on the shore...
Some of the typical roads... very little traffic except for groups of motorcycles setting personal bests...

Whoah, the Kootenays are so beautiful! Loved driving through that area back when I was in Canada. Thanks for posting the pics, looks like you're enjoying your turbo to the full! It looks stunning in this wonderful landscape.

Yeah, I'm a sucker for all shades of dark red, purple, violet.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.

JoeRockhead:Must have been a great drive through the Rockies. Would love to do that one day. Love the wheels..
If you do, just minimize your time on Hwy 1 (the Trans-Canada). Locals know that 80% of the BC traffic and tourists are on this route, leaving 20% on the thousands of km of highway south of this route. Of course every visitor wants to see Banff, Lake Louise, etc too, which condemns them to the summer slog of bumper to bumper on #1.
