HELP! Stuck clutch pedal!
Hi all. I have a 2007 C4S with around 2400 miles on it, and followed the break-in procedure fairly well (those last 400 miles were SO different). The car (unfortunately) lives in a Manhattan garage, but one that is used to dealing with high end cars (few porsches, Ferrari, Aston etc).
So the story goes, I took the car to our place in upstate New York last weekend and had some spirited fun on the country back roads. Drove her down the Taconic State Parkway, 120 miles back to Manhattan last Sunday evening.
I called the garage this morning (Sat) to take her out for a spin while the sun was shining, only to show up and have the attendant say "there is a problem with your car." Yikes! The car is on its hydraulic lift, in reverse but the clutch pedal is stuck depressed all the way to the floor. I was able to get it out of reverse and into neutral (which the nice lady on the phone with Porsche Roadside Assistance said was good as it would make things easier). The car will also start, but no clutch pedal movement. That was about all the experimenting I was willing to do before calling Porsche Roadside.
Unfortunately Manhattan Motorcars' Service dept is not open until Monday, so I'll have to call Roadside Assistance then and have it brought in on Monday.
So depressing (pun not entirely intended).
Any thoughts on what could be wrong? Big deal? Reason to worry?
Should I be concerned about getting caught between warranty coverage and garage liability?
Anyone have experience with Manhattan Motorcars' service department (I bought the car out of state)?
Any and all thoughts and commentary are greatly appreciated. Hopefully you can set my mind at ease as the rest of the weekend will be tough to get through.
Many thanks,
Andrew
