fritz:Ouch! Fortunately, roll-overs are generally less severe than full frontal crashes into solid objects, due to the lower g-forces.

Glad he's OK. The cage really pays for it self in this one, the car literally bounces off the roof while landing upside down at one point. Crazy. When the car comes to rest, the roof line is scarcely even dented in the least.
The video in the link is not available in US, so here's one:

incident begins around :40.

To be fair the car really only landed on the roof 1 time, 3rd last tumble, before it came to rest. The reset of the tumbles were all mid air. But even with that 1 landing the roof held.
Those mid air rolls really dissipated a lot of the energy without impacting the driver.

Gnil:Sh.. t ! But what was he doing on the left side of the track at that place ? It is impossible to pass that curb at that speed on that line .....
Exactly. That line at Schwedenkreuz is asking for trouble. I guess a Nordschleife beginner? Or someone with very big balls

Wow, nasty crash. The guy filming was going pretty slowly though, and drifted from the right hand side of the track towards the centre just before the Schwedenkreuz turn-in.. My guess is the other guy came up behind him fast, intended to overtake more or less in the centre of the track then found himself being squeezed to the left.. A bit of evasive action then put a wheel on the grass and game over.

Yeah the guy taking the video was a pretty crap driver. Still in these circumstances it's the overtaking driver's responsibility to pass safely. He should have waited to after the corner and slowed down.

Absolutely. Planning an overtake of an unknown driver on a Touristenfahrt in that place is is wildly optimistic in my book. A very fast stretch of track with zero room for error.

WowI hope he's ok in that one.. very very bad spot to try to overtake on the inside..but the speed and track width do make this a necessity at times, especially if you don't want to brake for traffic. Hope everyone is ok on that one.
