Don't expect better low-end torque. The Carrera S already has a variable intake tract to make max torque across the rev range (started 17 years ago in the 993 Varioram).
I expect better low end torque and better high end power from the X51 package. The whole point of the X51 intake system with the 6 switchable valves is to better handle the transition between different power and torque-optimised geometries. As you point out, VarioRam was once introduced to solve this transition, but had a different design using a second throttle body and a second plenum. Since then it has evolved into the more efficient X51 intake system with 6 valves. By the way, VarioRam was introduced 20 years ago on the 964 RS
Below is the torque and power curves for the 997.2 X51 package (solid lines) compared to the Carrera S (dotted lines). More low end torque and more high end power. Voila!
