Battery compartment sealant
Hello Rennteam,
Looking for help ID-ing a sealant used in the battery compartment of my 997.1. Long story short the battery blew at some point while on a tender. Removed battery and neutralized/cleaned up what I could. There’s a metal bracket in front of the battery I removed to get it cleaned up and in addition to two screws it was adhered with a black sticky caulk like sealant. Want to reapply as I piece it back together but can’t find the part in parts diagrams nor the sealant type. Car guy I know thinks it’s a Permatex black adhesive caulk. Maybe that’s similar/same but not sure.. Any knowledge would be appreciated.
